Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes! I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation. This is a chance for us to connect, discuss what you’re looking for, and see if we might be a good fit before starting therapy. Please feel free to contact me to set something up!

  • I currently offer virtual and in-person sessions to make therapy as accessible and comfortable as possible.

  • My hourly rate is $155

  • Unfortunately my services are not covered by OHIP. However, most extended health insurance plans include coverage for services provided by Registered Social Workers (RSW) with an MSW designation. Coverage amounts and eligibility vary depending on your plan, so it’s best to check whether “Registered Social Worker” or “MSW” services are listed under your benefits.

  • Yes, your privacy is very important to me. What you share in therapy is kept confidential, with only a few rare exceptions related to safety. We’ll talk about these limits together in our first session so you know what to expect.

  • Finding the right therapeutic fit is one of the most important parts of the process. If it feels like we may not be the best match, that’s completely okay. I’m happy to offer referrals to other therapists who may be a better fit, or if I believe my skills and experience aren’t the right match for your needs, I’ll gladly help connect you with someone who is.

  • Not to worry, I get this a lot, and won’t take it personally if you don’t get it right off the bat! “MARE-ee-el” is how my mother says it, so I’ll take her word for it.

  • If I am still working with the clinic through which we first connected, I am unable to see you in my private practice. However, if we first connected elsewhere, you are absolutely welcome to reach out about seeing me through my private practice.
